Why Artificial Grass is Great for the Family

If your household is filled with kids and pets that are itching to get outside and play, artificial grass is a perfect solution for your San Dimas home. With synthetic turf, you can allow your family to get out and play without worrying about the appearance of your lawn. Keep your yard pet and kid friendly while taking advantage of synthetic turf’s minimal maintenance requirements by installing turf in your home today.

Synthetic Turf is Safe (and Fun) for the Kids

If you have young children, consider installing a play area system in your backyard. It provides hours of fun for your children and peace of mind for you. Our play area synthetic turf is padded to absorb shock and has been proven to prevent injury from falls. Its non-abrasive surface protects from scrapes and scratches, and the synthetic polyethylene material means that there’ll be no mud or grass stains awaiting you when your kids finally come inside. Our play area artificial grass is highly durable and built to withstand high amounts of foot traffic, including kids’ roughhousing, so it won’t break or mat like natural grass would. It will also never turn brown, no matter how many hours your little ones spend running across it. Let them tire themselves out all summer long without stress by installing an artificial grass play area system in your San Dimas home.

Artificial Grass is Perfect for Pets

If your family includes furry, four-legged members, artificial grass is the perfect solution for them as well. Synthetic turf installation doesn’t involve dirt and can’t be dug up like natural grass, so no more muddy paws or holes in the yard. It is also extremely easy to clean when your pet relieves themselves in the yard. All of our synthetic turf options include a highly efficient drainage system that makes it easy to hose down and rinse away all pet waste. There are also anti-microbial infill and odor eliminator products available to sanitize your home’s artificial grass further. Keep your lawn beautiful, your pets happy, and your life stress-free with pet turf for your home.

The Ideal Poolside Paradise

If your family loves to take advantage of the pool in the summer, artificial grass pool decking is a practical and aesthetically pleasing option that will lower your yard maintenance all year long. Its efficient drainage means that it can get wet without having water pool on the surface of the grass. This will not only keep your lawn dry and safer to walk on, but it will also prevent the growth of mold and mildew. Synthetic turf never needs to be mowed, edged, or fertilized to maintain its appearance, so you can eliminate the landscaping required with natural grass. This means that you won’t have grass blades, gasoline-powered tools, or toxic fertilizer chemicals in and around your pool, which keeps the pool water safer and cleaner for your family.

Artificial grass is an excellent solution for San Dimas families looking for a way to maximize fun while minimizing lawn damage and landscaping work. It’s a practical solution for families with kids and pets that want to protect their little ones while simultaneously protecting the beauty of their home’s exterior. Synthetic Turf Care & Maintenance Tips

One significant advantage of artificial grass over natural grass is that there’s no required lawn maintenance. Artificial grass will stay even in height and keep its color without the need for mowing, weeding, fertilizing, daily watering, and all of the other chores associated with real grass. Because of this, San Dimas residents have been installing synthetic turf lawns in record numbers. However, once installed, one inquiry we receive often is how to care for a synthetic grass lawn properly. Here are some basic care and maintenance tips for your home’s artificial grass.

Clearing Debris

It’s recommended that you pick up or use a leaf blower to clear larger pieces of debris such as leaves, branches, and other objects that may land in your yard. These items may become matted into your artificial grass if left there over time. Removing debris from your lawn will help the artificial grass maintain a clean, groomed look and lower the amount of brushing you’ll need to do to preserve its lifespan.

Brushing

Areas with high foot traffic may become matted over time depending on the durability and pile height of the artificial grass product you choose. Brushing your synthetic turf every month or so when you notice matting can help restore your lawn’s pristine appearance. Brushing against the grain of the artificial grass, or cross brushing, will fluff up the fibers and maintain the upright position of each blade. Always use a brush with synthetic bristles, as brushes with metal or wire bristles can damage your synthetic turf fibers. Extend your lawn’s life and cut down on future maintenance by brushing your artificial grass as needed in accordance with foot traffic levels.

Watering

It’s necessary for your artificial grass to be rinsed down every so often to clean it of dust and debris. Rain is a cheap and effective synthetic turf cleaner if you live in an area that receives a significant amount of rainfall. However, if you live in an area where it doesn’t rain much – such as San Dimas – a quick hose down will work just as well to clear away dust. This should be done as often as possible, ideally once per week, but does not need to be as extensive as watering a natural grass lawn. A quick once-over with the garden hose will be sufficient to clear your artificial grass of dust and other particles for the week.

Spot Cleaning

In addition to regular maintenance, spot cleaning can sometimes be necessary if you spill or otherwise damage your synthetic turf. In case of spills or accidents, try to clean the area as quickly as you can to avoid it leaving a stain. Blot any liquids that have spilled and scoop up any solids. Rinse the affected areas with a mix of water and mild household detergent to clean the area adequately. If you have a more stubborn stain that withstands the soap, use a 3% solution of ammonia mixed with water. Finish by thoroughly rinsing the turf with clean water. For sticky substances such as tree sap or gum, freeze the area using dry ice or aerosol refrigerants. This makes them easy to scrape off of the artificial grass without damaging the turf.

All investments need care to maintenance in order to preserve their value. Artificial grass generally lasts about 20-25 years depending on use, but this can be extended further with diligent care and maintenance. Although your artificial grass will always remain evenly green, regular rinsing and brushing will keep your synthetic blades fluffy and upright, increasing its aesthetic value.
